Artscape FORM 2020

During October 2020 Artscape descended on the Swedish county of Östergötland. ARTSCAPE FORM involved four different municipalities during a two week production and the main purpose was to push urban art forward into new uncharted territory. International, Swedish and local artists were invited to create a total of 16 large scale murals in Linköping, Motala, Mjölby and Åtvidaberg. A unique twist to the project was the addition of Augmented Reality – technology that attached a digital dimension to the art.

Artscape regards public space as something fluid with an inherent potential to change form. Can the cityscape become something else entirely? Can a few brushstrokes create an entire new world to explore? We believe so and that ARTSCAPE FORM rose to the challenge!

Eight of the murals produced during the project have now been transformed into immersive digital overlays through Augmented Reality. Artscape always strives to be innovators within our art form and we believe that urban art can be more than just physical. The artists whose murals are AR compatible are: Adele Renault, Adrian P, Astro, Eelco, JDL, Pref, Stina Folkebrant and Vegan Flava.
